Health Cluster Portugal

Its mission is to contribute to the increased competitiveness of the national health value chain. Through the valorization of knowledge generated and available in universities, research institutes, hospitals, and companies within a framework of economic and social development, sustainability, and more and better health for all.

In this sense, its main objective is to mobilize, aggregate, and catalyze the health ecosystem to facilitate and accelerate its development:

Enriching the interaction between its different actors – promoting collaborative practices in national and international contexts
Identifying bottlenecks and opportunities – overcoming the former and enhancing the latter by building innovative solutions, within a framework leveraged by its recognition and reputation, seeking to contribute to greater wealth generation, while ensuring the sustainability of the entire system, aiming for more and better health for citizens

Performance

The success of the Cluster is evaluated by the performance of the health sector in the following measures:

More health

Gains for the citizen and changes in the structure of the health system to better meet the challenges of the future.

More knowledge

Increase in qualifications (from vocational schools to doctorates), R&D, innovation, and collaboration between sub-sectors

More wealth

Increase in GVA, exports, qualified employment, the number and size of companies, and investment.
